Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar ZP to elect President, Vice-President on March 18

Ch. Sambhajinagar, March 11 (UNI) A special meeting to elect the president and vice-president of the Zilla Parishad in connection with the Zilla Parishad and Panchayat Samiti Elections 2026 has been scheduled for Wednesday, March 18. The meeting will be held at the District Planning Committee Hall in the Collector’s Office at Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Presiding Officer and Additional District Collector Sambhajirao Adkune informed.
As per the schedule, the nomination papers for the election of the Zilla Parishad president and vice-president, will be accepted from 10:00 a.m., to 12 noon on Wednesday, March 18. The special meeting will begin at 2:00 p.m. on the same day. The first step in the meeting will be the scrutiny of the nomination papers received. After the scrutiny process, time will be provided for candidates to withdraw their nominations.
Following the withdrawal period, a final list of candidates contesting the election will be prepared in Marathi alphabetical order. If more than one candidate remains in the fray, voting will be conducted by a show of hands. Voting will first take place for the post of president and subsequently for the post of vice-president.
