Chennai cops make 3rd arrest in Tripura in gold theft case

Agartala, April 21 (UNI) The Chennai police on Monday took away a local jewellery shop owner from Bishalgarh in Tripura’s Sepahijala district, who was detained in a gold theft case in Tamil Nadu’s capital.
A group of businessmen in Bishalgarh tried to prevent police from taking Satya Ranjan Karmakar to Chennai, but finally, the police managed to take off from the Agartala airport. They demanded that Karmakar should be interrogated in Tripura and tried in a local court.

Jowai, May 21 (UNI) Meghalaya has emerged as one of the leading states in healthcare investment, with over 8 per cent of the annual state budget—more than Rs. 1,000 crore—dedicated to the health sector, Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma said on Wednesday.
“The government is supporting not only state-run hospitals but also collaborating with church-run and non-profit hospitals,” he said after inaugurating the Hubert Rosario Road in Spein, Mookaswan, West Jaintia Hills district.
