Centre bails out mango farmers after HDK's distress signal

Bengaluru, June 24 (UNI) In a major relief to mango farmers grappling with price crashes and lack of market support, the Union Government has approved a Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) for Karnataka.
The decision comes in response to a letter by Union Minister for Heavy Industries HD Kumaraswamy, who raised urgent concerns regarding the severe losses being suffered by mango growers in the state and surrounding regions.
Union Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, in an official communication to Kumaraswamy dated Tuesday informed that the Centre has sanctioned procurement of up to 2.5 lakh metric tonnes of mangoes at a Market Intervention Price (MIP) of Rs 1616 per quintal for the 2025-26 marketing year.

CAG report exposes financial indiscipline of Naidu headed government: AP Ex-CM

Vijayawada, Mar 11 (UNI) Former Chief Minister and YSRCP President Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy claimed on Wednesday that the CAG report has ratified what YSRCP has been consistently stating about the financial indiscipline of the Chandrababu Naidu government.
Talking to mediapersons, he said that the CAG report revealed that the Naidu government has taken a whopping Rs 3.2 lakh crores loans in just two years while the borrowings during the entire five-year term of the previous YSRCP government was Rs 3.31 lakh crores.
