Centre allocates Rs 273 Cr for AGMC, approves 100 more MBBS and 83 PG seats

Agartala, May 16 (UNI) The union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has allocated Rs 273.46 Cr for the enhancement and development of infrastructure at Agartala Government Medical College (AGMC), said Tripura Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha.
He conveyed his appreciation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Health and Family Welfare Minister J P Nadda for their approval of this significant funding, which is intended to bolster medical education and healthcare facilities in the state.
The Chief Minister noted that the approved funds would empower the state government to add 100 MBBS seats and 83 postgraduate seats for 19 key and specialty fields starting from the academic year 2026-27.
