CBI Court awards 4-yr RI to former postal assistant superintendent in bribery case

Bhubaneswar, Mar 14 (UNI) The designated Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) Court Bhubaneswar found a former assistant superintendent of post offices in Odisha’s Baripada Central Sub Division guilty of bribery charges and sentenced him to four-year rigorous imprisonment.
The convict, Radha Krushna Sahoo, against whom a bribery case was registered in 2012, was also slapped with a fine of Rs. one lakh, CBI said in a statement.
The premier investigating agency registered the case on 4 February 2014 after it was alleged that the accused demanded a bribe of Rs. 2 lakh from the complainant to take initiatives for his joining as Gramin Dak Sevak in Debsole branch post office in Mayurbhanj district.
