CAQM invokes GRAP- IV measures as Delhi's AQI reaches severe zone

New Delhi, Jan 17 (UNI) As Delhi's average air quality index witnessed a sharp increase on Saturday recording 428, at 8 pm, the Commission for Air Quality Management in the Delhi and NCR invoked stage- IV measures of its anti- pollution Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) to further prevent the rise in pollution.
The air quality exhibited deterioration, likely due to the highly unfavorable weather and meteorological conditions, and the lack of dispersal of the pollutants, experts said.
In the evening, at 4 pm, according to the Central Pollution Control Board's daily AQI bulletin, the index value had reached 400.
