Capacity building training, key to better emergency readiness: HP Governor

Shimla, Dec 7 (UNI) Members of the Himachal Pradesh State Red Cross and the Indian Red Cross Society called on the Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla at Raj Bhavan and apprised him about the three-day training workshop which concluded today at the State Red Cross Bhavan, Shimla.
Emphasising the importance of such initiatives, the Governor said that capacity building workshops were vital for enhancing preparedness and coordinated response during emergencies. He said that the Red Cross can play a crucial role in crises through effective training and teamwork.
Expert sessions were conducted by Dev Bhujjia and Rachna from the International Federation of Red Cross and John George from the International Committee of the Red Cross, and technical sessions for capacity enhancement by Assistant Secretary of the State Red Cross Society, Sanjeev Kumar.
