Canada sanctions 11 individuals, 2 entities involved in Hamas financial network

Washington, Sep 18 (UNI) Global Affairs Canada announced on Wednesday that Ottawa has imposed sanctions on eleven individuals and two entities over their involvement in Hamas’ financial network.
Hamas has been listed as a terrorist entity under Canada’s criminal code since 2002. The latest measures mark the fourth round of sanctions against Hamas since February 2024.
"Today’s sanctions apply to eleven individuals and two entities with roles in Hamas’ financial network. They have directly or indirectly participated in facilitating, supporting and providing funding assessed as integral to the planning and execution of the attacks on Israel that began on October 7, 2023," Global Affairs Canada said in a news release.
