Calcutta High Court to deliver verdict on primary teacher recruitment case today

Kolkata, Dec 3 (UNI) The Calcutta High Court will pronounce its judgment on Wednesday in the high-profile primary teacher recruitment case, with the verdict scheduled for 2 pm before the Division Bench of Justice Tapabrata Chakraborty and Justice Ritabratta Kumar Mitra.
The matter stems from a 2023 order by then-Justice Abhijit Gangopadhyay, who had cancelled the appointments of 32,000 untrained primary teachers recruited on the basis of the 2014 TET examination.
In total, over 42,500 teachers had been appointed in 2016, but allegations of large-scale irregularities in the recruitment process later surfaced.
