Cabinet clears ₹24,815 Cr rail multitracking projects in UP, Andhra Pradesh

Visakhapatnam, Apr 18 (UNI) The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday approved two multitracking railway projects with a total outlay of about ₹24,815 crore, aimed at boosting capacity and efficiency across key routes in Uttar Pradesh and Andhra Pradesh.
The projects, taken up by the Ministry of Railways, will cover 15 districts across the two states and expand the Indian Railways network by around 601 km.
Officials said the increased line capacity will improve mobility, enhance operational efficiency and reduce congestion on busy corridors.
