By-poll: Meghalaya Gambegre assembly passes off peacefully, 90.84 pc voters turnout recorded

Shillong, Nov 13 (UNI) Voting for the by-election to the Gambegre assembly constituency in Meghalaya went off peacefully on Wednesday, with over 90 percent of the electorates casting their votes in the constituency.
"Polling was peaceful in all 51 polling stations in the Gambegre Assembly constituency, with an estimated 90.84 percent of the voters having cast their votes,” Chief Electoral Officer Dr. B.D.R.Tiwari said.
He said the final figure of voter turnout is likely to increase once the final figures are tabulated.
