Mumbai, Nov 12 (UNI) Anil Ambani-led Reliance Power’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Reliance NU Energies, has emerged as the largest winner in the 1500 MW/6000 MWh Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) ISTS tender issued by SJVN, which is a Navratna enterprise, according to a regulatory filing.
The company stated that it has received a Letter of Award (LoA) from SJVN on November 10.
The company secured 750 MW / 3,000 MWh, representing 50% of the total tender allocation, through a competitive online reverse auction held under the FDRE (firm and dispatchable renewable energy) scheme.
The tender aims to deliver round-the-clock renewable power using hybrid and storage-based energy solutions.
The tender was oversubscribed by 3.3 times, with 14 bidders qualifying for the online auction process.
Reliance NU Energies emerged as the largest winner with the lowest tariff of Rs 6.74 per kWh.
After this development, the Anil Ambani-led Reliance Group has become India’s largest player in the Solar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) segment.
The company now has a portfolio exceeding 4 GWp of solar and 6.5 GWh of BESS capacity across four tenders — all awarded by Navratna enterprises — achieved in less than a year.
The upcoming project will integrate 900 MWp of solar capacity with over 3,000 MWh of battery storage, enabling delivery of dispatchable renewable peaking power to electricity distribution companies (DISCOMs).
The SJVN FDRE tender is the first-of-its-kind initiative designed to provide firm and dispatchable renewable energy to DISCOMs across the country.
It aims to support India’s ambitious clean energy targets by promoting large-scale renewable generation coupled with energy storage systems.
