Bomb threat to Trichy airport turns out to be a hoax

Tiruchirapalli (Tamil Nadu), Jun 24 (UNI) A bomb threat received by the Tiruchirapalli International Airport here via e-mail had sent security agencies and police in a tizzy on Monday.
Police sources said the Airport authorities received an e-mail from an unknown person stating that bombs would explode inside the Airport and also at other Airports in the State.
Following the threat, the Airport was kept on high alert. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) along with the bomb detection and disposal squad (BDDS) of Tiruchirapalli city police conducted a massive search in and outside the Airport premises. Sniffer dog was also pressed into service.
