BK Hariprasad becomes new KPCC chief

Bengaluru, June 3 (UNI) Senior Congress leader BK Hariprasad has been appointed as the new president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC), replacing DK Shivakumar following his elevation as Chief Minister of the state.
The organisational change comes in the wake of Shivakumar taking oath as Karnataka Chief Minister on Wednesday, necessitating a leadership reshuffle within the state Congress unit as part of the party’s internal transition arrangement.
Hariprasad, currently a Member of the Karnataka Legislative Council (MLC) whose tenure is set to end this month, is a veteran Congress leader with long experience in organisational and parliamentary roles. He has previously served as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha and has held key positions in the All India Congress Committee (AICC).

Doctors reconstruct oral cancer patient’s jaw using leg bone at Hyderabad hospital

Hyderabad, June 9 (UNI): Doctors at Kamineni Hospitals on Tuesday said that they have successfully reconstructed the jaw of a 39-year-old man using bone and tissue from his leg after oral cancer caused by a prolonged history of gutkha chewing and smoking destroyed a portion of his jawbone.
