BJP sounds poll bugle for Telangana Municipal Elections

Hyderabad, Jan 17 (UNI) With an eye on the upcoming Municipal and Corporation elections in Telangana, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday officially launched its poll campaign, asserting it is fully prepared to contest elections in 10 Municipal Corporations and 121 Municipalities across the state.
Addressing the “Vijay Sankalpa Sammelan” in Secunderabad here, BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao projected the party as a rising political force, particularly in rural Telangana, and declared that the BJP’s recent local body performance marked a decisive shift in the state’s political landscape.
Rao claimed BJP-backed candidates had secured nearly 1,000 sarpanch posts, 1,200–1,500 up-sarpanch posts, and about 10,000 ward member positions, a dramatic rise from just 150 sarpanch posts earlier, which he said reflected growing public confidence in the party.
