BJP MLA Rajeshwar Singh proposes 'Mission FDI-UP' for making UP top global investment destination

Lucknow, Jun 17(UNI) Ruling BJP MLA Sarojininagar Dr. Rajeshwar Singh has requested Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to consider launching “Mission FDI-UP” to make Uttar Pradesh one of India’s leading destinations for foreign direct investment.
In his letter on Wednesday, Dr Singh stated that Uttar Pradesh has made historic progress under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in law and order, expressways, airports, industrial corridors, defence manufacturing, data centres, electronics, tourism and investor facilitation. He said that the UP today has India’s largest consumer base, abundant manpower, improving logistics, political stability and a strong infrastructure pipeline.
Referring to DPIIT data, Dr Singh highlighted that from October 2019 to December 2025, FDI equity inflow in India has remained highly concentrated in a few states. Maharashtra received Rs 8.31 lakh crore, Karnataka Rs 5.42 lakh crore, Gujarat Rs 3.91 lakh crore, Delhi Rs 3.26 lakh crore, Tamil Nadu Rs 1.49 lakh crore, Haryana Rs 1.35 lakh crore and Telangana Rs 1.01 lakh crore, while Uttar Pradesh received Rs 23,158 crore, approximately 1 per cent of India’s state-wise FDI equity inflow.
