BJP Maharashtra marks rise in Defence exports, says India emerging as global supplier

Mumbai, May 10 (UNI) India’s growing emergence as a major global defence supplier was highlighted by the Maharashtra unit of the BJP, while emphasis was laid on the country’s increasing defence exports and self-reliance initiatives.
In a post shared on social media platform X along with an image, it was stated that India’s defence sector had progressed “from buyer to global supplier”, while reference was also made to defence exports increasing “25 times” during the past decade.
The remarks were linked to the broader “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative, under which emphasis has been placed by the Central government on strengthening indigenous defence manufacturing and reducing import dependence.

Mumbai, June 5 (UNI) The Congress here today officially announced that it has expelled two of its Legislative Council (Vidhan Parishad) candidates who withdrew their candidatures leading to a situation where ruling Mahayuti candidates managed to win unopposed.
Congress candidates Sahebrao Kamble, who was supposed to contest from the Yavatmal constituency, and Shailesh Agarwal, who was fielded from the Chandrapur constituency, withdrew their candidatures without notifying the Maharashtra Congress leadership, which led to their expulsion from the party.
