BJP holds Tiranga rally at Srinagar’s Lal Chowk to celebrate Op Sindoor

Srinagar, May 15 (UNI) The BJP on Thursday held a Tiranga Rally at Srinagar’s historic Lal Chowk to celebrate the success of "Operation Sindoor".

The rally, attended by BJP leaders and party workers, began at Sher-e-Kashmir Park and culminated at Lal Chowk, a location that has symbolic significance in Kashmir's political landscape.
Holding the national flag, participants raised slogans against Pakistan and hailed the Indian Army and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“This rally at Lal Chowk is a tribute to the Indian Army and security forces for not only dismantling terror hubs in Pakistan but also showcasing India’s strength and resolve,” said a BJP leader. “This rally is an expression of our love for the nation.”

BJP leader and chairperson of the J&K Waqf Board, Darakhshan Andrabi, said the rally was a moment of pride for every Indian.

“The Indian Army has made the entire country proud,” she said.
The Srinagar’s Lal Chowk has held political and symbolic importance for the BJP, especially after the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019. Lal Chowk and the adjoining area around the iconic Ghanta Ghar (Clock Tower), once considered a separatist stronghold, have become a frequent venue for pro-nationalist demonstrations and events in recent years.

A day earlier, the J&K Muslim Rashtriya Manch also organized a Bharat Yatra at Lal Chowk to mark the success of Operation Sindoor and express solidarity with the armed forces.
