BJP files complaint with EC against Karnataka minister

Bengaluru, April 15 (UNI) Karnataka BJP on Monday filed a complaint with the Election Commission against Karnataka Minister D Sudhakar for allegedly violating the Model Code of Conduct.
The BJP's complaint to the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka focuses on the minister's public speech made at Nayakanahatti village in Chitradurga district. According to the BJP, Sudhakar promised special grants of Rs 25 crore from the Centre after speaking to the Chief Minister, contingent on receiving "maximum votes" from the people.
"We strongly understand that these remarks will influence and coerce the voters in the upcoming election," the party alleged.
