BJP expels Raghupathi Bhat for contesting against official candidate in council election

Bengaluru, May 25 (UNI) The BJP has taken a decisive action against former MLA and party leader Raghupathi Bhat, expelling him with immediate effect for his decision to contest against the party's official candidate in the upcoming Legislative Council election for the South West Graduate constituency.
The announcement came from Lingaraja Patil, President of the State BJP Disciplinary Committee, who cited Bhat's actions as a clear violation of party discipline.
According to the statement released here on Saturday, Bhat's decision to contest as a rebel candidate directly contradicted the party's instructions has caused significant embarrassment.
