BJP core committee meets in Bengaluru, focuses on Bagalkote, Davanagere South bypolls

Bengaluru, Mar 13 (UNI) A high‑powered meeting of the Karnataka BJP core committee was held on Friday at the party's headquarters under the leadership of state president Vijayendra Yediyurappa.
The session brought together senior leaders to discuss strategy and candidate selections for the upcoming Bagalkote and Davanagere South Assembly constituencies.
The committee deliberated extensively on aspirants for the Bagalkote and Davanagere South Assembly seats, with sources indicating a conscious effort to bridge factional differences within the party. Leaders and aspirants reportedly agreed to set aside past rivalries, and any concerns from dissatisfied members were addressed privately ahead of finalising recommendations to be sent to senior leadership in Delhi. This move is being interpreted internally as an attempt to consolidate party unity and present a disciplined front ahead of high‑stakes by‑elections in both constituencies.
