BJP charges Congress with spreading false narrative on Dalit youth death in UP

New Delhi, Oct 11 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party today accused the Congress of spreading misleading information among the public regarding the death of a youth after he was beaten by a crowd in Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh.
Uttar Pradesh Cabinet Minister Baby Rani Maurya, addressing a press briefing here, said the youth who has been identified as Hariom Valmiki from Fatehpur district was beaten to death on the night of October 1 at the Unchahar police station area in Raebareli.
She said that at around 1 am, villagers mistook Hariom for a thief, caught him, and brutally assaulted him, which resulted in his death.
