BJD flags mass voter deletions, demands simple, transparent registration process in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, July 15 (UNI) The opposition Biju Janata Dal (BJD) on Wednesday raised serious concerns over the deletion of lakhs of names from Odisha's electoral rolls and demanded a simple, transparent, inclusive and easily accessible voter registration process across the state.
A BJD delegation, led by senior vice-president and former minister Debi Prasad Mishra, met the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Odisha, and submitted a memorandum highlighting complaints and objections reportedly received from political parties, Booth Level Agents (BLAs) and members of the public across the state.
The delegation demanded simplification of declaration forms and additional information requirements for the inclusion of new voters under Form-6 and the transfer of voters from other states under Form-8.
