BJD demands government to pay salaries to MBK, Bank Mitra, Krishi Mitra and Prani Mitra

Bhubaneswar, Dec 9 (UNI) Non-payment of salary to thousands of employees like MBK, Bank Mitra, Krishi Mitra, and Prani Mitra working under the Mission Shakti programme on Monday for months was raised by several members of the opposition BJD seeking a direction from the Speaker to direct the government to pay them salary at the earliest.
Raising the issue during zero hour, Opposition Chief Whip Pramilla Mallik said MBK, Bank Mitra, Krishi Mitra, and Prani Mitra were appointed to guide and assist the members of SHGs to empower the women socially, mentally, and financially.
She said they were passing through a difficult period as the BJP government had not paid them salaries for the last six months. They were not even given work to do.
