BioVaram to establish Centre for Excellence in Life Sciences; MoU signed at Telangana Rising Summit

Hyderabad, Dec 9 (UNI) BioVaram on Tuesday announced a major push into India’s deep-tech biotech landscape with the launch of a Centre for Excellence in Life Sciences, focused on tissue engineering, regenerative medicine, and advanced cell and gene therapy.
The announcement was made following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of Telangana during the Telangana Rising Global Summit held at Bharat Future City here, marking one of the most significant public–private partnerships in India’s sunrise biotechnology sector.
The initiative, aligned with India’s Vision 2047, is guided by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. K. I. Varaprasad Reddy, Founder of Shantha Biotechnics and Chairman & Mentor of BioVaram, along with Dr. Jaganmohan Reddy, Founder and Managing Director of BioVaram.
As part of the partnership, the Telangana government will allocate land for the Centre within the upcoming Bharat Future City and is expected to extend funding support for developing and operationalizing the facility.
Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy and Minister for Industries and Commerce D. Sridhar Babu have pledged full cooperation to help establish the Centre as a national and global platform for biotech innovation.
BioVaram has committed ₹250 crore to build the integrated ecosystem, which will accelerate high-risk, high-impact transnational research.
The Centre will feature advanced infrastructure supporting AI-driven innovations across regenerative medicine, biomaterials, cell and gene therapy, and predictive bio-analytics.
The project is expected to significantly boost employment and regional innovation, generating 50 scientist positions, 200 direct jobs in scientific and operational roles, and 500 indirect jobs across construction, supply chain, and ancillary sectors.
“India has to lead the world in innovation, and Telangana has to lead India,” said Dr. Varaprasad Reddy, calling the Centre a testament to what government–industry–science collaboration can achieve.
Dr. Jaganmohan Reddy noted that the initiative will help build a globally competitive ecosystem poised to advance India’s leadership in regenerative medicine and AI-integrated biotechnology by 2047.
BioVaram, known for its AI-enabled peptide design and regenerative medicine platforms, has received support from ASPIRE Seed Fund, BIRAC BIG, and investments from Bhavya Constructions, Dr. Varaprasad Reddy, and the Manoj Namburu consortium.
The company recently launched its first AI-designed peptide product for cell death detection and exosome identification, marking a significant milestone in computational biotech innovation.
The company has earned several recognitions, including winning the Maharathi Challenge 2025, selection for a Prime Minister’s booth visit, and being named among the Top 5 Startups at BioAsia 2024.
With strong scientific leadership and strategic partnerships, BioVaram aims to drive global innovation and make advanced therapies accessible from India to the world.
