Bilaspur DM restricts firecracker use on Diwali, sets noise limits

Bilaspur, Oct 17 (UNI) The Bilaspur District Administration has issued guidelines regulating the use and sale of firecrackers during Diwali. District Magistrate Rahul Kumar, exercising powers under Section 163 of the BNSS 2023, has prohibited firecracker use across the district, subject to specific conditions.
This order, aligned with Supreme Court directives and public safety requirements, will remain in effect until October 21, 2025.
In the orders issued, the District Magistrate stated that the use of excessively noisy firecrackers is completely prohibited. Specifically, firecrackers producing noise exceeding the prescribed limit of 125 dB (AI) or 145 dB (C) PK are banned. For chain firecrackers, a reduction of 5 LOG (10 (N) dB) in the noise limit will be mandatory.
