Bihar: Prashant opposes Waqf Board Amendment Bill

Patna, Mar 18 (UNI) Founder of "Jan Suraaj " Prashant Kishor on Tuesday strongly opposed Waqf Board Amendment Bill brought in Parliament and also urged Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to extend support of his party in opposing the bill.
Kishor said that there was no need for bringing Waqf Board Amendment Bill in parliament as it was targeted against interests of Muslim community. Almost all muslims having 20 crore population in India were feeling uneasy since Narendra Modi government had brought the Waqf Board Amendment Bill in parliament last year, he pointed out.
"Any bill affecting the interest of Muslim community cannot be and should not be placed in parliament for its consideration without taking them into confidence ", Jan Suraaj leader said adding that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was in a position to stall the bill in parliament in larger interests of Muslim community. Number of MPs of JD(U), the party of Kumar in Lok Sabha, was sufficient to foil the bid of Narendra Modi government to get passed Amendment Bill from the House, he stressed.
