Bihar on high alert ahead of PM Modi's visit tomorrow

Patna, Apr 23 (UNI) In view of scheduled visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Bihar on Thursday, within two days after Pahalgam terror attack, strict security arrangements have been made for him besides enhancing alertness at all tourist places across the state.
Bihar DGP Vinay Kumar said that an high alert had been sounded across the state particularly at important tourist spots after terror attack in Pahalgam. Elaborate security arrangements had been made for the Prime Minister visiting Madhubani district of Bihar tomorrow, he added.
"Security has been tightened in all districts along Indo-Nepal border in Bihar ", the DGP said, adding that porous border in districts neighbouring Nepal would be under strict vigil of security forces. Senior officials had been issued instructions to keep hawk eye on all security aspects in view of Modi's visit to Bihar, he added.

SIT team visits Salt Lake stadium to probe Messi event fiasco

Kolkata, Dec 17 (UNI) The four-member SIT headed by Director Security Peeyush Pandey has visited Salt Lake Stadium to make a study, a day after the Nabanna constituted the high-powered police team to probe the fiasco where fans vandalised the galleries and pitch after failing to see football maestro Lionel Messi.
Besides Pandey, the SIT team comprises of Javed Shamim, ADG and IGP (Law and Order); Supratim Sarkar, ADG and IGP (South Bengal); and Murlidhar Sharma, Commissioner of Police, Barrackpore.

Bodies of two Bengal fishermen recovered, search on for three others

Kolkata, Dec 17 (UNI) The bodies of two missing fishermen were recovered on Wednesday, while search operations continued for three others after their trawler capsized in an alleged hit-and-run incident involving a Bangladeshi vessel in the mid-stream of the Bay of Bengal on Monday, official sources in South 24 Parganas said.
The bodies were found inside the capsized fishing trawler, which was located by the search team on Tuesday evening. The trawler was towed to Moynapara dock along the Kakdwip coast in the early hours of Wednesday.
