Bihar: BPSC declares result of Preliminary Test

Patna, Jan 23 (UNI) The Bihar Public Service Commission on Thursday declared result of preliminary test conducted for 17th combined competitive examination, amid controversies hovering around alleged paper leak and other irregularities.
According to sources in BPSC, 21,581 candidates had been declared successful in Preliminary Test (PT) conducted for 70th combined competitive examination on December 13 as well as on January four, when it was re-conducted for candidates of Bapu examination centre in Patna , as this centre was affected by late distribution of papers and other irregularities.
BPSC aspirants have been agitating for re-conducting the Preliminary Test but demand was rejected by the state government and the Commission.

Odisha Assembly approves hike in salary, allowance & pension for legislators

Bhubaneswar, Dec 9 (UNI) The Odisha Assembly on Tuesday unanimously passed four bills on the last day of the winter session to increase the salaries and allowances of the Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Ministers, MLAs, and other office-bearers.
The pension for former MLAs has also been revised. The revised structure will take effect retrospectively from June 5, 2024.
