Bihar: All govt departments' land records will be available online

Patna, May 14 (UNI) Bihar Government has decided to make available online land records of all departments in the state to avoid any land dispute in implementing decisions for execution of projects.
Additional Chief Secretary of Revenue and Land Reforms department Deepak Kumar Singh said here that a decision to this effect was taken to ensure smooth implementation of various government projects, including construction of AIIMS buildings, Airports and Railways projects. " Government land mutation portal " had been created where land records could be uploaded so that transparency should be maintained, he added.
"If there is any problem in government land mutation, concerned officials should make their efforts sincerely to solve it ", Singh said, adding that partial mutation was done of the government land allotted for the construction of AIIMS buildings and also Airports despite land allotted for the projects by state government. Separate dates had been fixed for the disposal of mutation-related cases of lands of various projects, he added.

Boatman drowns in Meghalaya

Shillong, June 16 (UNI) In a tragic incident, a 42-year-old boatman drowned at the Umngot river on the edge of the India-Bangladesh border in Meghalaya today after falling from the boat.The deceased, identified as Amilson Surong, fell from the boat while ferrying tourists on the Umngot River in Dawki under the West Jaintia Hills district.Village Defence Party (VDP) Dawki President, Kelvinel Khonglah said Surong was out on a routine boat ride with three female tourists when he suddenly experienced a seizure, lost control and fell into the river.The boatman's body was retrieved from the murky water after several hours of search and rescue operation launched by the police, fire & emergency services and local villagers.
