Bharatiya Vichara Kendra alleges Ayyappa Sangamam driven by commercial motives

Thiruvananthapuram, Sep 13 (UNI) The Bharatiya Vichara Kendra State Committee has alleged that the upcoming Ayyappa Sangamam at Pampa is being organised to serve commercial interests rather than temple development.
In a resolution passed at its State Committee meeting, the organisation said that although the event has been announced in connection with the 75th anniversary of the Travancore Devaswom Board, “it is evident that the government, and not the Board, is taking the initiative.” The Kendra added that the lack of transparency and shifting explanations from ministers “prove the dubious intent.”
The organisation pointed out that a master plan for Sabarimala development already exists but has not been implemented effectively. “Sudden claims of development are insincere and appear to be merely a means for fund collection,” the resolution stated.
