Bengaluru civic polls after May 25, ballot papers to replace EVMs

Bengaluru, Jan 19 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Election Commissioner G S Sangreshi on Monday announced that elections to the five new municipal corporations formed under the Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA) will be held after May 25, with ballot papers replacing Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs).
Addressing the media, Sangreshi said the poll schedule would be finalised after the conclusion of SSLC and PUC examinations.
He made it clear that the same method would be followed for the forthcoming zilla and taluk panchayat elections later this year.

TN can become USD1 trillion economy by 2031: TN Economic Survey

Chennai, Feb 16 (UNI) Tamil Nadu’s prospects of achieving its goal of USD 1 trillion economy by 2031 by sustaining the current growth rate and a rise in the value of the dollar against rupee, states the Tamil Nadu Economic Survey 2025-26. The state will also contribute to India becoming a developed nation by 2047, the survey said.
