Bengali: Resignation of TMC councillor triggers fresh political speculation in Asansol civic body

Asansol, June 9 (UNI) Political developments within West Bengal's Asansol Municipal Corporation gathered momentum on Tuesday after TMC councillor Sanjay Nunia resigned from his post, days after the arrest of fellow councillor Tarun Chakraborty on alleged corruption charges.
The elections of the 106 wards of the Asansol Municipal Corporation are slated for early next year.
In another notable development, BJP councillor Chaitali Tiwari was formally allotted a chamber as Leader of the Opposition only a day before Nunia's resignation.
