Bengali film Bohurupi wins seven Filmfare Awards Bangla

Kolkata, Mar 19 (UNI) Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee's directorial venture Bohurupi has won seven Filmfare Awards for Bangla including those for best film and best direction.
Chaalchitra Ekhon, a tribute to celebrated auteur Mrinal Sen, and Manikbabur Megh were awarded in Best Film (Critics') category.


Bohurupi won seven awards, Manikbabur Megh got six, Srijit Mukherjee's biopic on Mrinal Sen Padatik fetched 5 and Chaalchitra Ekhon bagged 4 awards across categories.


For Best Actor (Critics'), Anjan Dutt and Chandan Sen shared the award for their respective roles in Chaalchitra Ekhon and Manikbabur Megh. Mamata Shankar took the award for Best Actress (Critics') for her performance in Bijoyar Pore.


Nandita Roy and Shiboprasad Mukherjee won the Best Director award for Bohurupi. Shiboprosad Mukherjee was honoured with the Best Actor In A Leading Role (Male) award for Bohurupi and Subhashree Ganguly won the Best Actor In a Leading Role (Female) award for Babli.


Subhankar Mohanta was awarded as Best Debut Male for Mon Potongo while Baishakhi Roy and Idhika shared the Best Debut Female honour for their roles in Mon Potongo and Khadaan respectively.


In Best Actor in Supporting Actor Role (Female) category, Monami Ghosh and Tanika Basu were awarded for their roles in Padatik and Chaalchitro The Frame Fatale respectively.


Sawon Chakraborty and Silajit Majumder were recognised for their talent in Chaalchitra Ekhon and Ajogyo respectively in the Best Actor In A Supporting Role (Male) category.


Biswajit Chatterjee was bestowed with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his exceptional contribution to Bengali cinema. UNI PC SSP
