Kolkata, Oct 5 (UNI) The junior medics of the state-owned hospitals have called off their second phase indefinite cease work but continued the sit-in-demonstration at Esplanade here with an ultimatum to go on hunger strike for indefinite period starting midnight tonight until their 10-point demands were conceded by the West Bengal government, official sources said .
The medics under the banner of West Bengal Junior Doctors Front (WBJDF) on Friday night announced to call off their cease work, which began from October 1 but continue the sit-in-demonstration at DorinaCrossings ( Esplanade) until the government met their demands.
The medics also set a deadline to the government to consider their demands or else they would resort to an indefinite hunger strike, scheduled to start tonight, Dr Debashish Haldar said.
