Kolkata, Feb 27 (UNI) Indian Secular Front (ISF) chairperson Naushad Siddique (MLA), who was arrested on Tuesday morning from this city on his way to Sandeshkhali was released on Tuesday evening, official sources said.
The city police stopped his vehicle from the Science City area in south Kolkata and then took him into a prison van for Lalbazar.
A senior police officer said Siddique was rounded up (preventive arrest) because the law enforcing agency was apprehending law and order problems in Sandeshkhali, ( North 24 Parganas) where many areas have been under Section 144 CrPc.
