Bengal: Elephant kills youth, protest in Bankura

Bankura, July 20 (UNI) A 35-year-old man was trampled to death by a wild elephant while riding home through a forested stretch in West Bengal's Bankura district on Saturday night, prompting angry villagers to block a state highway and demand immediate intervention from the Forest Department.
Locals blocked Bankura-Durgapur SH-9 at Barjora demanding immediate drive action. Protesters alleged the forester's negligence as a herd of 16 migrant elephants is roaming in the area for the past two days.
They demanded enhanced compensation, a job for the family, and relocation of the elephant herd. UNI KS NST

Odisha Court jails man for using bank account in cyber fraud
