Bengal: Another fasting Jr doctor admitted to hospital in North Bengal hospital

Kolkata, Oct 15 (UNI) A fasting junior doctor- Souvik Banerjee- was admitted to a hospital in north Bengal, as the indefinite hunger strike by medics entered the 11th day on Tuesday.
Banerjee is the sixth medic to be hospitalised after participating in the hunger strike demanding among others justice for the alleged rape and murder of a woman doctor at R G Kar Medical College and Hospital on August 9.
Banerjee, who was on fast, despite falling sick earlier in the day, initially refused to give up but as his health deteriorated due to dehydration, he was taken to the emergency department and then shifted to ICCU in the North Bengal Medical College and Hospital later in the afternoon, sources said.
