Beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana extremely low

Aurangabad, Feb 18 (UNI) Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana has been launched in the country since 2015, with the objective of providing housing to every citizen, and the demand for housing scheme is increasing in urban and rural areas.
However, the scheme is facing difficulties in the city. In this regard,Rajya Sabha BJP MP Dr. Bhagwat Karad had a meeting with the Deputy Commissioner Bappasaheb Nemane of the Aurangabad Municipal Corporation(AMC).
In AMC, housing scheme is being implemented in two out of four units. As many as eighty thousand citizens registered online applications for the housing scheme. However, at present, the DPR of a household is determined by factor number four. And the work is being approved, so the number of beneficiaries is extremely low.
He said that he would discuss the issue of Affordable Housing (AHP) with the District Collector and Municipal Commissioner as soon as possible and make efforts to make land available for housing scheme.
The Center has said that it will write to Delhi for the beneficiary grant and try to resolve government issues. He said that he would hand over a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray on how to be included in the Aurangabad City Slum Redevelopment Scheme.
Regarding speeding up the housing scheme, Dr. Karad's question has been raised in the Rajya Sabha.
This is a very important scheme and the government is implementing it in four components, credit leak subsidy and affordable housing.
The Central Government provides a minimum of Rs. 1.5 lakhs from the State Government for construction of houses in one lakh urban housing schemes.
Two and a half lakh rupees are given directly to the beneficiaries in the form of grant. Dr. Bhagwat Karad said that he will try to speed up the important housing scheme in the city.
