Berlin, May 18 (UNI) Bayern Munich ended their Bundesliga campaign on a high with a convincing 4-0 victory over Hoffenheim on Saturday, in which club legend Thomas Muller made his final league appearance for the club.
Muller was the center of attention, having been given a starting role by coach Vincent Kompany in his 503rd and final Bundesliga match. Despite the emotional nature of the occasion, Bayern was all business from the outset, dominating possession away from home. Hoffenheim, needing a point to ensure safety, sat deep and frustrated the champion early on.
It took a moment of magic to break the deadlock. In the 33rd minute, Michael Olise stepped up to take a free kick and curled a brilliant shot into the bottom corner of the net. Bayern led 1-0 at halftime, though clear chances remained rare.
