Batala Police bust cross-border drug and arms syndicate, two arrested

Chandigarh, April 11 (UNI) In a major crackdown on cross-border organised crime, the Batala Police have successfully dismantled a sophisticated syndicate involved in narcotics smuggling and illegal arms trafficking.
The operation led to the arrest of two key operatives and the recovery of 6.5 kilograms of heroin, high-calibre weaponry, and significant drug proceeds.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the module was operating under the direct instructions of handlers based abroad, facilitating a network of extortion and weapon supplies to local criminals.
