BASF's Global Service Hub operations to commence in Hyderabad in Q2 FY26

Hyderabad, May 5 (UNI) BASF, the global chemicals major, will establish a Global Service Hub for its Global Business Services (GBS) division in Hyderabad, with operations scheduled to commence in the second quarter of the current fiscal.
The company submitted a Letter of Intent (LoI) to Telangana IT Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu on Tuesday.
The announcement was made in the presence of senior leadership, including Tobias Dratt, President, Global Business Services at BASF; Alexander Gerding, Managing Director, BASF India Limited and Head of BASF Group Companies in India; Michael Hasper, Consul General, Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Chennai, India.

Hyderabad was selected after a competitive global evaluation, with BASF citing the city's strong talent pool, supportive policy ecosystem, and mature enterprise infrastructure as key advantages.
Earlier this year, the company had also announced a Global Digital Hub in the city, marking continued investment in Telangana.
Speaking on the occasion, Sridhar Babu said Hyderabad has emerged as one of India's fastest-growing Global Capability Centre (GCC) hubs, adding over 75 GCCs in the past year.

Alexander Gerding described the development as a significant milestone in BASF's long-standing presence in India, noting that it aligns with the company's "Winning Ways" strategy and strengthens its global capabilities. He added that co-locating Global Business Services and Global Digital Services in Hyderabad will enhance collaboration and reinforce the city's strategic importance within BASF's global network.
The Hyderabad hub will complement BASF's existing global service centres in Berlin (Germany), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and Montevideo (Uruguay).
