Bangladesh MP Murder: Bengal court sends professional butcher to 12-day police custody

Kolkata, May 24 (UNI) A court in West Bengal on Friday remanded an accused of brutally murdering Bangladesh lawmaker (MP) Md Anwarul Azim in a Kolkata apartment, to 12-day police custody after being produced before the Barasat court in North 24 Parganas, sources said.
Jihad Hawaldar, alias Juber, a professional butcher, was arrested from a hideout at Bongaon, the border area with neighbouring Bangladesh in North 24 Parganas on Thursday by the sleuths of Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
The initial investigation revealed that Jihad Hawladar, who hails from Bangladesh, stayed illegally in Mumbai and was brought to Kolkata two months ago on hire by the mastermind accused Akhtaruzzaman, a US citizen of Bangladeshi origin and the murdered MP's close friend.
