Bangladesh Islami Andolan withdraws from 11 party alliance ahead of upcoming polls

Dhaka, Jan 15 (UNI) Bangladesh Islami Andolan, led by Charmonai Pir, has withdrawn from the 11-party alliance formed by Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami and the National Citizen Party (NCP), reducing the bloc to 10 parties, senior leaders confirmed.
The exit does not include Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, which remains in the alliance under the leadership of Mamunul Haque, following the reshuffle.
Two senior figures from Jamaat-e-Islami and the NCP told Business Standard BD that leaders of the remaining 10-party alliance are holding talks at Jamaat-e-Islami's Mogbazar office in Dhaka to finalise seat-sharing arrangements.
