Bangladesh: Ex-editor gets bail in 2011 plot to abduct, kill son of Sheikh Hasina

Dhaka, Oct 3 (UNI) A Dhaka court has granted bail to Mahmudur Rahman, former editor of the daily Amar Desh, in a case involving an alleged plot to abduct and kill Sajeeb Wazed Joy, former Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's son, in 2011, media reports said on Thursday.
Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge's Court Judge Mohammad As-Shams Jaglul Hossain granted the bail after a hearing on Thursday, the Dhaka Tribune reported.
According to the case details, the five accused, including Mahmudur Rahman, held a meeting at home and abroad for kidnapping and killing Joy, the then adviser to Sheikh Hasina, in September 2011.
