Bangladesh committed to preserving communal harmony, says Home Affairs Advisor Lt Gen Md Chowdhary

Dhaka, Oct 10 (UNI) Bangladesh Home Affairs Advisor Lt Gen Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury (retd) has said that the interim administration is committed to preserving the country's secular fabric, and ensuring communal harmony and peaceful religious coexistence nationwide.
"The interim government has taken all necessary steps to ensure that religious communities can observe their traditions with dignity and peace," Alam said while speaking at the Kathin Chibar Dan ceremony organised by the Bodhigyan Kendra (Buddhist Monastery) in Ashulia, reports Business Standard BD.
Referring to the month-long Buddhist festival from Ashwini Purnima to Kartiki Purnima, he said that arrangements have been made in all the monasteries across the nation, guaranteeing full security for the peaceful conduct and observance of the festival.
