Bad weather dashes PM's aerial survey plan of disaster hit areas in Uttarakhand, ₹1200 cr package announced

Dehradun, Sep 11 (UNI) Prime Minister Narendra Modi's plan for aerial survey of disaster affected Dharali in Uttarkashi and other parts of the state could not be realised on the Thursday as he could not fly due to poor weather conditions in the Himalayas. He however chaired review meeting with officials and announced a ₹1200 crore disaster relief package for the state.
As his scheduled flight for disaster affected places could not take place, Prime minister chaired a high level review meeting with chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, governor Gurmeet Singh, state chief secretary Anand Bardhan, state BJP president Mahendra Bhatt and other officials to assess damages caused by floods in various parts of the state in the ongoing monsoon. During the meeting Prime Minister announced a financial assistance of ₹1200 crore for flood and rain affected areas.
He also announced ex-gratia compensation of ₹ 2 lakh each for the families of the deceased persons and ₹50,000 for those injured in the rain inflicted series of disasters across the state.
