B R Patil appointed KSPPC Deputy Chairman

Bengaluru, Feb 17 (UNI) Days after resigning as political advisor to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, Congress legislator B R Patil has been appointed as the Deputy Chairman of the Karnataka State Policy and Planning Commission.
A notification to this effect was issued by the Department of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Monday. The post of Deputy Chairman carries the rank of a Cabinet minister.
Patil, a four-time legislator from Aland, was appointed as the Chief Minister's political advisor in December 2023. His appointment at the time was seen as a move to placate senior legislators who were reportedly upset over being overlooked for ministerial berths in the Siddaramaiah Cabinet.
