Auto driver attacked in Solan, Auto union demands strict action

Solan, Feb 14 (UNI) The city's Shamati Bypass Road witnessed terror by anti-social elements last Friday night after three unidentified drug addicts attacked an auto-rickshaw driver with sharp weapons near Durga Public School, seriously injuring him and robbing him of his day's earnings.
The victim has been identified as Ashu, a resident of Degree College area, Solan. Dharampal Thakur, president of the Shulini Auto Union, said that Ashu was returning to Saproon, Solan, with his auto-rickshaw from Shamati Bypass after dropping off a passenger. Three drunken youths stopped him on the way. After a minor altercation, the attackers repeatedly stabbed Ashu with a knife.
Ashu suffered a deep wound on his arm, requiring nine stitches at the hospital. Crossing all limits of brutality, the attackers snatched the injured driver's hard-earned cash and fled the scene, taking advantage of the darkness.

The chargesheet in 2013 FIR was filed before the Court of Special Anti-Corruption Judge Baramulla for offences under Sections 420, 467, 468, 471, 120-B and 201 RPC read with Section 5(2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act.
