Aus Open: De Minaur shines in round one

Melbourne, Jan (UNI) Australia's Alex de Minaur displayed his hallmark speed and steely determination to secure a commanding first-round victory at the Australian Open, defeating Dutchman Botic van de Zandschulp 6-1, 7-5, 6-4 at the Rod Laver Arena on Tuesday night.
Seeded No. 8 at his home Grand Slam, De Minaur overcame a spirited challenge from the world No. 84, showcasing resilience and precision in a match lasting two hours and 22 minutes.
Cheered on by a vocal home fans, the 25-year-old raced through the opening set in just 26 minutes, breaking Van de Zandschulp twice for a 5-0 lead.
